Travel Days is about the places worth the drive.
Not the landmarks — those can look after themselves. We write about the diner
that has been on the same corner since before the interstate went in, the bakery whose
case is empty by ten, the supper club at the end of a county road, the roadside oddity
somebody built for no good reason and everybody is glad they did. The places that never
advertised, and never needed to.
We cover the Midwest and Florida, and we are adding states. Every article is written
to answer the same question: is this worth getting in the car for, and what should you
order when you arrive?
How we work
Every specific detail we print comes from a source we can point to, and anything we
cannot confirm stays out. We check a place is still open before we publish, and our
practical guides — passes, ferries, tolls, seasons — rest on the official
source for every rule. Our images are illustrative rather than pictures of the
